Oakside camping is our small family run campsite within the pretty village of Sykehouse in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Sykehouse is the longest village in Yorkshire and offers beautiful canal and riverside walks , excellent fishing, cycling routes and a warm and friendly local pub 'the old George inn'.
our camping field is a 1.2 acre grass paddock edged with oak trees and native hedging. The dense hedging around the site makes it very private, and also attracts an array of local wildlife. we enjoy the quiet pleasures in life and we have tried to develop our campsite to reflect this.
we are an ideal site for those who enjoy fishing and cycling, with the popular 'Sykehouse fisheries' directly opposite the campsite, and the Transpennine Trail running through the village. It is also a great site for birdwatching or general wildlife watching due to the woodland and wetlands around the area.
sorry no dogs (except assistance dogs). we reluctantly made this decision mainly due to the smaller size of our site.
